Hey boys and girls! Let me start off by saying that I personally know absolutely nothing about building computers what-so-ever! So I am seeking help from you fine people. The idea is a powerfull future proof Gaming PC who can be upgraded when the times comes.

There is a big media shop nearby where you have the possiblity to order parts individually who then get assembled by a tech. So I would tremendously appreciate if you guys could give me a few hints and tips on what to get and what to avoid getting. So I don't end up with a pc getting caught on fire :p

The budget is something around 1600€ euro's, could go up to 2000€ if there are important breakpoints I should be hitting.

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks in advance :D

First off forget about future proof - there really is no such thing. If you can post what store or country you plan to purchase from that will help to suggest a system. If not the sticky at the top of this forum will point you in the right direction.

Hey, I've mailed the guy your suggested pc parts and this is what he answered me.

- For the case he suggested the Zalman z11 because it has an effecient cooling, good looks for a interesting price.
- Mobo: the gaming 5 because it has a better flow fromt he south to north bridge then the asus z97a
- Psu: express 750 w
- GPU: He suggest me to take the 970 because the 980: 1. Just costs "too much" and 2. It only gets it's full potential with an i7 (4790) and a MSI Z97 Gaming 7

Would you agree with his philosophy on the GPU? Or is it worth the extra €€ for the "top" card?

its not worth the extra money for a 980 if you want to spend that much the 970 sli is the better option but a 970 will max practically everything at 1080p
