3 monitors, only 2 working

So i hooked up 3 monitors to my HD7870 , it detects all 3 of them but can only display 2 at the same time. I was using 2 x dvi and 1 x hdmi. So I read that 1 of them had to be displayport, so today i went out and bought one (DP to HDMI), hooked it up and i still have the same problem: only 2 of them are being displayed, please help.

your situation is very common with AMD cards and their lust for DisplayPort bu115h1t. is the DP-HDMI adapter active, or passive? it might not be labelled. what did it say on the box? how much did you pay for it? invariably, you unknowingly got the wrong type, because 90% of the adapters are passive and AMD insists on active (in their infinite lack of wisdom).

I paid 20 Euros for it, and it is an active one, it says so looking at the product (Club3D DP to HDMI)
It works well because i'm using it right now but one of the DVI screens is sh1tt1ng right now.
