I have a 1995 honda accord and just noticed theres ticking coming from top of motor.any idea on what woukd cause ticking ?

I have 95 honda accord.I hear a ticking noise coming from top of motor.any suggestions on what it could possibly be?

Without seeing the car it could be anything wearing out on the top of the motor.

Please check your oil before you drive the car anywhere.

I would check the oil leve, and if the oil level is correct, then you really should bring it to a mechanic and have them check it out. If you have an oil pressure gauge, see if that falls in the proper range. If your pressure is low, then your oil pump could be going out and not feeding your engine the pressure that it needs, and that means that your "top end" is the one that pays the price.

That's a diaphram style pump i think, and it could actually provide the right amount of pressure when the engine is above idle, but drop down to way less then you stop at a light, or start the car to warm it up.
