I need a new monitor so I was thinking about picking up an Asus PB287q 4K monitor for my computer. At the moment I have a pretty mediocre graphics card- the EVGA Geforce GT 740. I plan to upgrade my card to either two EVGA GTX 960 running in SLI, or a single GTX 980 but I have not decided. In the time I have the bad graphics card and the 4k monitor, what resolutions can I generally use (web browsing, youtube- not gaming of course) the monitor- 1080p? 1440p? 2160p? I also wanted to know, can use a DVI to Display Port and acheive 4k or 1440p resolutions at 60hz? The last question I have is, what are the disadvantages to scaling down a monitor besides the low pixel density?
