Corsair VS550 enough?

Currently this is my rig...
i5-4460 up to 3.40GHz (Quad Core) Haswell Refresh Processor
ASRock H97M
Gskill 8gb dual 1600 CL9 RAM
Crucial m550 128gb SSD
WDCB 1TB HDD
Corsair VS550 Power Supply
CM N200 case

im planning to get r9 280x gpu.... Is VS550 psu enough for the system? does it have enough power connectors for the whole system... im worried because I read that r9 280x needs 2 8pin connectors while the corsair vs550 only got 1...

No, it would be cutting it close. 280's are power hungry while your PSU isnt the best. Think about GTX960 instead.

does gtx 960 perform like r9 280x? 280x got 3gb vram against 2gb from gtx 960... im confused...

280X is faster and have more Vram but you cant run it with that PSU but you can run gtx960.

VS series is dead last in terms of quality in the Corsair lineup , also it's not Haswell compatible , you should upgrade your PSU

Thanks guys for all your help... I'd sell my corsair VS550 and bought a Brand New Seasonic m12II 620W EV0 80+ bronze... It's double the price but I hope it's good enough...
