3 monitor setup (2 identical, 1 oldschool VGA) R9 280

Hello Tomshardware I have never really posted to this community but need help so I'd reach out to other fellow gamers/tech people.

I'm normally smart on this stuff but for some reason it will NOT work correctly at all.

I have a 3 monitor setup,

1 Acer 1080
1 asus 1080
1 Dell VGA monitor (With Dvi-D adapter into graphics card)

Somehow I've gotten it to show the screen but it was all whacky and then my other 2 good monitors were the slaves to the VGA Dell monitor.

It's just very frustrating, here are my displays coming out of my graphics card.


1 Mini HDMI to HDMI
1 dvi-d to DVI-D
1 Dvi-D adapter in Dvi-D to VGA monitor


So I am very troubled as to why this is so confusing for my computer to figure it out.

When I go to the third monitor and try to extend it says "unable to save display settings"

Do you get the active displayport adapter or not? Make sure it is the acrtive one, if it is the passive one that the Eyefinity does not work.

The catalyst center is so confusing to work with. (eye finity)

It does work with eyefinity its popped up before.

ahh still trying to find a fixable reason for this?

I switched one of the outputs to mini hdmi to hdmi but still nothing.

I'm just checking first that your GPU can run 3 monitors at once, i'm looking for your issues, i'll repost with what i find.

Is the 3rd cable active, Just like the first person posted?
