dual cpu motherboard- different CPU core sizes, does it matter which socket I use?

I have one 8 core CPU and one 12 core CPU (both same stepping)--which CPU should I make the main cpu (cpu1)? Does it matter?

It's an asus kgpme-d16 motherboard

If running 2 CPUs they should be the exact same

While sometime CPU's of different speed may work on any dual CPU motherboard they shoud be the exactly the same.
