ripjaws X or ballistix tactical tracer ? 1600MHz OR 1866MHz - 2133MHz ?

Hey guys,


Just need some help on choosing RAM.

NOTE: I am going for a blue/black build and either ram will work because the ballistix have blue LEDs and the ripjaws are blue SO

it comes down to performance really.

the motherboard im going with is GIGABYTE Z97X UD5H BK, if that makes it any easier for you guys to help me out between these 2 RAMs



the g skill are $15 cheaper than the ballistix. IF and ONLY IF the performance are similar, will it then be worth it to pay $15 more for the LED factor of the ballistix?



1. Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer - 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 - 1600MHz, 8-8-8-24 OR G.SKILL RipjawsX 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Memory, 8-8-8-24-2N


2. I'm using i5 4690k CPU, should I stick with 1600MHz or do you guys recommend I get 1866MHz - 2133 MHz ??

There isn't anything in it performance wise, it all comes down to appearance and how you want your build to look!

The GSkill are the stronger sticks (more OC headroom) so sort of boils down to if you want to pay extra for the lights
