Purchased a new monitor last week, (Feb 2015). Updated drivers before connecting it and when I finally tried to connect it as a second monitor it was blank after boot.
Old monitor is DVI and new one has both DVI and HDMI. Tried 1 HDMI and 1 DVI first, when that did not work I tried both on DVI. System hung on 'Loading Windows' screen. I was able to boot in safe mode but was unable to restore. Ultimately I had to reinstall the OS.
I have tried going about this in several ways, resulting in 4 total reinstallations. I am now running 1 monitor, (the new one), using the HDMI connection.
The GTX has 2 DVI and 2 HDMI. are there issues using one of each? Anyone have an idea? The monitor software has a choice for DVI or HDMI driver, any way to specify a driver for each output?
