(First things first, if I am in the wrong area of Tom's Hardware I do apologize, and if directed to where I should be posting this I will gladly move this there.)

So, I just dual-booted linux on my PC, and I thought it might be a good idea to get familiar with coding. Problem is, I have no idea where to go, or where to start.

I made an account at a website called "codeacademy" and it looks like it may help get me to where I need to go, thing is I don't know where to start..

What would be best for me to get familiar as a beginner? If I remember right, Linux uses C and not C++, but I do not see that mentioned on the website I was talking about earlier. All that is menitioned in fact is HTML&CSS, JavaScript, and Python there are others, such as PHP, JQuery, and Ruby, but I am not sure that is relevant.

Anyways, I appreciate any help.

Thanks!
