100% HDD Issue | Windows 8.1 | Game Lag/Freeze

Okay, When I am playing games (some of them not all) I commonly get bad lag spikes, freezing periods. Every time I look on my task manager my C (primary) drive is always a 100%

(From What I learned at college)

The OS has to communicate with hardware right? So if the hdd is unable to forfill the request quick enough because the HDD is to busy, will games freeze up and lag? Because the read & write speeds are very poor compared to my WD 1tb my games are on...

EDIT: My OS also becomes very slow also when the disk is at 100%, Do you think, buying a faster WD would be the best answer?

Intel I5 4460 3.2Ghz
8GB DDR3 1333Mhz
R7 265 (Dual Fan)
500w PSU

1TB WD HDD (Games)
80GB HDD (OS, 7Gb Free)

I would advise you to go to Windows Services and disable Superfetch, Windows Search and BITS. Check this thread out: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2027511/windows-disk-usage-100-problem.html
If the issue persists, it may be a good idea to test your problematic drive with a brand specific testing tool.

Well, The HDD still goes 100%, But I think my drives speeds are really bad... That might be why!

Most probably there is something wrong with the drive after it is that slow. I would advise you to back up the most important data that is on it and put it on your other drive. Getting a new drive may be a good idea.
