Passive vs. Active 3D capability? PS4, Bluerays?

Hey all,

I'm looking for a 3D monitor, but can't decide if I want to go with an active 3D TN panel, or a passive 3D IPS monitor. One major selling point is this:

Is active 3D compatible with movies? Or is it exclusive to PC gaming? Can you convert any media into active 3D format?

I know passive 3D can do this.

I plan to use this monitor as a screen for my PS4 and for movie watching. If I go active 3D, will I be able to play PS4 games in 3D? What about movies?

Thanks!

Either passive or active can work. Some folks prefer passive as it is a little cheaper, and the glasses are more comfortable, particularly if you wear eyeglasses. Active is the best experience, especially if sitting close, but it costs more, and the active shutter glasses are heavier.

Both are compatible with Bluray, if you have a player that is 3d enabled, and the disc is 3d as well.
