I’ll be heading out today (or this weekend) to purchase this at Microcenter in Michigan. This system is being built to play games specifically World of Warcraft and I would like high FPS 1920x1060 res on Ultra during end game raids. The budget is $1100 without an OS.

Does anybody have any suggestions that will reduce my cost and/or increase my FPS? Also, I’m willing to go a bit over budget for an item that is considered higher in quality and/or quite. I’m open to switching any item other than the CPU provided it is available at Microcenter especially the case and PSU.

Thank you

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/cW4mK8

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (Willing to pay the $80 for the I7 vs I5) $280
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 7 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard $100 after $20 rebate
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $60
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (I already own it)
Storage: Hitachi Travelstar 7K1000 1TB 2.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $75
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card $330
Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case $60
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply $70 after $25 rebate
DVD - I haven’t picked one yet.
OS likely Windows 8.1 pro

I don’t plan on overclocking but the price at Microcenter for the K version of the CPU is less than the others because of the bundle with the motherboard.

You can edit PCpartpicker to show you prices, for where you are going to shop. It doesn't yet add the combo discount for the CPU/Motherboard bundles yet though. You want the B2 series version, of that PSU. The B1 is not very good. I would recommend an aftermarket cooler, for that CPU. The motherboard bundle discount is enough to get that.

That's a nice feature with pcpartpicker. Thank you for sharing and I'll definitely upgrade on the cpu cooler and PSU.
