Need ethernet PLEASE HELP

I bought a 50 foot ethernet cable to plug in my PC, but I dont have a place to run it, so I was wondering if anyone knows if it would interfere with the power jacks if I just run the ethernet cable through the juction box that has 2 plug-ins. Thanks!

Without knowing exactly what you are trying to do, it is impossible to say.

What, specifically, do you mean by this?

But generally, you don't want power and ethernet right next to each other for any appreciable distance.

As in, there is a junction box, and I want to run my cable from the basement to the upstairs, and there is a junction box that is visible from the basement, which isnt finished or anything, so all wiring is visible, with 2 power outlets. Also, in case it makes a difference, it is cat6 cable.

As said...you don't want to run data (Cat5e or Cat6) and power next to each other for very long.
