Swtiched monitors, new one doesn't work with graphics card.

So I switched out monitors, and the new one doesn't work with my graphics card. I know this because I have run the computer without the graphics card, and the monitor works, but when I replace the graphics card, the monitor doesn't recognize the computer(the fans run and the lights are on, just no display).

I am running:
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00 GHz

also windows 7

Any help would be appreciated to get the monitor to display with the graphics card installed.

Is the graphics cards new? Do you have another monitor that you can try with the graphics card to test it?

The graphics card is not new, it was previously working with a different monitor

Im not 100% sure, but I believe it was using vga as it is now (Im sorry I realize how superbly helpful that is)

Try it again. I would guess that if one monitor worked and the new one doesn't that it must be a a cable issue or a port issue (since the new monitor works on the integrated graphics port and the old monitor works with the same graphics card ).
