Hi, I'm using the WD 1TB HDD drive. Due to some problem, the drive become undetectable. I've donwloaded the WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic. I ran both tests (Quick and Extended) and it passed. However I'm unable to write zeros (Full and Quick) as I keep getting Delete Partition error. Any solution to this? Is there also any other way to reformat my HDD?:??:

Welcome to Tom's Hardware, Johyn912!

I'm sorry you are facing such issues with the WD drive. Can you please share the S.M.A.R.T status results? (like a screenshot or copy/paste the information)
Does the error from the Data LifeGuard tool has a number? I'd suggest you to also re-seat the cables to the drive in question and try to write zeros one more time.

Keep me posted!

Yes, this error means that a device I/O control command during the test has failed. It may be due to a media or write/read error or defective connection. Can you, please, also check Disk Management in Windows and see the status of the drive there?
If the error persists after re-seating the cable connections, I'd suggest trying the drive in another USB port or another computer altogether. If that doesn't help, I strongly recommend contacting our tech support and send out an RMA request if the WD Elements is still within the warranty period.

P.S. I'd advise you to edit your posts and deleting the SERIAL number from the SMART results, please.
