Laptop Memory Compatibility Question VAIO Model EB33JM

Hello all,

I want to expand the RAM memory on my laptop (VAIO EB33JM) and I found Sony recommends

Crucial 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz PC3-12800 SODIMM 204 pin Laptop Memory CT102464BF160B

I found this one which is cheaper and I'm wondering if it would work as well:

Also what characteristics should I consider to understand RAM memory compatibility?

Both memory modules you found will work. When you look for RAM there are only a few differences. These are what you need to do to get compatible RAM.

1. Do you need desktop or laptop RAM? - Laptop

2. DDR, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4? - DDR3

3. What speed do you need? - Generally, the speed does not really matter unless you have very specific uses for it.

4. Brand? - Always make sure you buy from a good, reliable brand. Both Crucial and G Skill are great computer component manufacturers.
