I need a new display to hook up to a 2010 Macbook Pro. Also my MBP's gpu doesn't really work; it can only use the integrated gpu consistently. I have $150 - $200 to spend. Here are my stipulations: It has to come from Newegg. It has to be a panel that is some variant of IPS. It has to be able to pivot to portrait mode. It has to be 1080p. I want a smaller pixel pitch. My ideal monitor would only be 15.6" and 1080p IPS. This monitor exists, but is powered by USB 3.0, which my Macbook Pro sadly doesn't support. If you know of some workaround of this problem, you will win the "solution" game immediately. I'm considering getting a cheap IPS panel and putting it on an Ergotron mount for pivoting. I'm also considering buying a 21.5" Dell IPS monitor that comes with a pivotable mount. Please discuss/debate/critique these options!
