My first build linked here : http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/mt7xjX

Not decided on a cooler, case and monitor.

Case: Something aesthetic and windowed would be great. Few in mind but costs are high

Monitor : Not sure between 1440 or 1080 because of the Hz, preferably an IPS though.

Cooler: Open to all suggestions.

I'd like to buy parts that will keep me very happy for a while so
Monitor: happily spend a fair bit, can stretch to £400 or make compromises elsewhere
Case: £60 would be ideal or less.

Don't know if there's a reason for that gtx 980 from Evga, but i would choose a cheaper version to get the case in the build that i will link,

The gpu chosen is still a reference design but from a different brand.
Changed ram too,but if you want that white ram for that reason just pick what you want.
Chose also a decent cpu cooler. The hyper 212 evo is always an option too for not too much.
A different and cheaper case,
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-case-cas340ww1
doesn't have room for a dvd player if you need that so keep that in mind.

Chose a bit different screen than you asked for,but the next is a link to a review about it ,
http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/5606/gaming-monitors-review-on-overdone-overdrive
also compared to others.

If you don't like the choices just let me know. No need for an hdd btw?

Ive been offered a very good deal on a i7 4770 and was wondering if i'd be losing out on much if I went for that as oppose to the 4790k?

Ive got an old HDD at home that il be using for now, possibly upgrading in the summer.

Regarding RAM, I'm not fussed, if the G-Skill is better, I'm happy to go for it.

I'll read up about that monitor, is there any other ones I should consider?

The 4790K has the ability to be overclocked,it also has a higher stock speed of 4ghz.It depends on the difference i price too.

If this is a sata disk will you be fine, maybe check it with hd-tune if not used for a time before putting stuff on there.

It is very good ram and imo better than the kingston you picked.

Other options,

for most are there also 23"or 27" versions to get.Different price categories, the cheapest should already do good.Read some reviews if you want to know more. There's also a difference in resolutions so keep an eye on that too, pick what you favor. Also differences in outputs.
