Will my motherboard and selected GPU work together?

I am NEW to PC gaming. I finally decided to buy my own pre built PC instead of risking screwing up lots of money when building my own. So, with my Intel H81 chipset motherboard and a Radeon R9 280X GPU work togther? Like I said, I am new so don't be too harsh. This is the PC I am buying, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227596.

I did try using pcpartpicker.com to check compatibility but I could not find my motherboard on there , which led me to the always reliable tomshardware.com. Feel free to talk to me like a 4 year old with no knowledge of PC's. Cause that is really my level of knowledge.

Oh and one last thing, I know that if I do upgrade my GPU I will be upping the wattage on my PSU.

Instead of just saying nothing, why not give some useful advice.

He CLEARLY said that if he upgrades the GPU, he will also upgrade the PSU.

i just built a computer and i paid 629 for all of it

it is in my sig i think if you build it yourself u can get it cheaper.....

but yes i mpotherboard is ompatible with that gpu

jus change your psu and and get the 280x and youll be good to go

Your motherboard will be compatible with ANY GPU really. No issue there. Motherboard/GPU compatibility is a non-issue 99% of the time.

You are simply incorrect. It is not that awful. It is not the best, by any means, but it is not terrible.
