Been a few years since I've made a new rig, so far this is what i am considering for a Gaming Rig.
CPU: Intel I7 4790k
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SuperSC ACX 2.0+ 4GB
RaM: G.Skill Ares 1866 (2x4GB) DDR3
MoBo: ASUS Z97-PRO-GAMER or AUS Z91-A
PSU: Corsair CS650M Modular 80 Plus Gold Power Supply

Any parts worth changing/considering? This is around my budget.

Thanks in advance.

was considering both those options, but the 970 is about $180 more where i am, is it worth it?
and the i5 4690k is about 100 cheaper.

This all depends on what you plan to do with your system. For gaming, totally drop the 4790 and get the i5-4690 as Bossy fins suggested. However, if you want to edit video, or another CPU intensive task, then keep the i7-4790.

Yup i indeed to use it for primary gaming, also often multitasking between 2 screens Games and other stuff (another game sometimes or just a movie/show)

Thanks a lot for the speedy replies, and for the help. is the 970 that much of an upgrade over the 960 SuperSc 4gb?

Yep. The 970 has that much of a difference on the 960. I'd go with a 4690k and a 970 over a 4790k and a 960 any day!
