Grand Theft Auto V: Can I Run It?

Seems we have a lot of people asking if their systems are capable if playing the game GTA V. Now we all know the minimum system requirements are posted here: PCGamer and System Requirements, I think it would be useful to our community if we created a repository of systems that can and cannot play GTA V. So if you would, please fill out the following and post a) If you are able to play the game and b) what average frame rate you see as well as c) Your system specs.

Copy and paste what follows into your response:

System Specifications
Operating System:
Processor and Speed:
RAM and Speed:
Graphics Card:

Can I play the game - Yes/No:
What Resolution am I set at:
What are my avg FPS:

Just as an example:

System Specifications
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium - 64-bit
Processor and Speed: Intel Core I5-760 @ 2.8GHz
RAM and Speed: 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1333GHz
Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce 8800GTS-640

Can I play the game - Yes/No: NO
What Resolution am I set at: 1920x1080
What are my avg FPS: N/A

I think if we can get a good collection of data, people might have a better idea of what to expect from their systems or perhaps, if they need to upgrade their systems.

Help out, if you would

*Note. I don't actually, nor have any intention to play the game

Funny how those specs have been listed for weeks and yet we still get dozens of posts each day asking if a particular system will be able to play the game. I thought, if perhaps we had actual results from a variety of people actually playing the game, people would have a better idea of whether or not their systems would be able to play the game.

Ahh I'm actually preloading.. 16GB/60gb. Can't wait to start playing... One of the greatest titles in gaming history finally on my SSD( halfway ) heheh :D
I'm so glad to see that detailed options menu. To be honest it seems really high quality work. And ofc i'm also glad to see all those different eyecandy implemented like nvidia pcss, txaa, amd chs, and etc.
Heres the link from PCGamer with the full graphics options. http://www.pcguru.hu/hirek/breking-a-dobozos-pc-s-gta-5-hoz-sem-kell-a-dvd/31438

OS: win8.1 x64 pro
CPU: i7-4790
RAM: 16gb 1866
gpu: GTX 980

CAn i play: yeah
What resolution: 1080p
avg FPS: Hopefully 70-75 on ultra

Oh and i'll post the result the article from PCgamer:

cpu: i7-5930k@3.50GHz
ram: 32GB of RAM
gpu: SLI GTX 980
installed on 256gb ssd

Resolution: 4k
options: ultra
avg fps: 60

I think 4k ultra 60fps on 980 sli is kinda couraging. to mention an example ac unity runs on 24-30 fps on a 980 sli in 4k, but still runs on 60 on 1080p ultra on a single 980. So from this i'd guess GTA 5 is really a good Pc port and it will shine.

I'm sure they will, but just like System Requirements and PCGamer having posted the minimum system requirements for the game, it hasn't stopped people from posting, "Can I play it" threads.

@David_Brent -

The idea here is to post systems that both will and will not work. By posting your system specifications (in the format outlined), you can help many others with their desires to play GTA V.

The purpose of the thread is to report; not ask, what does or does not work.

What resolution do I play at: 3840 x 2160
My average fps: 45 fps

My average fps is from OC'ed to 1200MHz clock and 1900MHz memory, I gained about 10 fps from OC. My settings are at 4k everything is at ultra except for AA, I only have one kind of AA on which is reflection MSAAx8, I have no clue what it does but it doesn't seem to affect my fps by a lot, about 3-5. So far it seems to be very well optimized, getting an average of 40-50 fps is better than I expected from a new game. The game uses up to 6.8 GB of VRAM just like I expected :)

Hey can anyone answer how big the final install size actually is? Does the game really take up 60GBs?

To all of you, I highly reccomend updating your Video Drivers. Before I did this, GTA V was a stutter fest with FPS drops all over the place on my 290. Once updated, it is as smooth as butter!

Normal Settings down from Nvidia's suggested setting of Very High. GeForce Experience settings was 40-60 FPS with noticeable drop-off in the open world driving. Running the "Day 1" driver update as well. No issues with stability other than the benchmark tool going straight into the game.

Almost everything on normal and most features off like V Sync. Getting 60 fps unless things get crazy in Beverly Hills

Same issue with me (GTX 960). I was getting some frame drops, but oddly enough it seemed to be only in cutscenes. Then after seeing some forum posts I checked nvidia experience and found the GTA V driver update which seemed to smooth everything out. Very few (if any) frame issues now... Really glad they spent extra time (or rather, the appropriate amount of time) releasing this game because it's lovely

Ultra grass quality is a killer. Push extended distance scaling to max ( in advanced settings) , push very high tesselation, 2x msaa and push grass to ultra quality, then go to a heavily grassed area( like in the valley) and see the result. My gtx 980 got pwned in 1080p. Having 18-23 fps. don't even need to move, only sitting in the car and turning the camera around watching the grass. hahahaha i feel kinda owned
