Using a single RAM card from a kit

Bought a gskill sniper 8gb kit (4x2) wondering if i will be able to use them separately 1 in a different PC will this work?
Also does dual channel just mean CPU communicating to two RAM slots simultaneously should the RAM support this and how does ddr differ from this like is ddr3 just a name and is it the bus speed that matters comparing to ddr2.

You can put only 1 stick into a computer. DDR, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4 all have different slots so they are not compatible with each other.

Yes they can be used in two different computers and will run in single channel - dual channel is when the MC (memory controller) see's a like amount of DRAM in each channel and basically has them run as a single device
