Trying to add a Dell E1715S as a 2nd monitor to my 970

I'm trying to add this monitor as a 2nd display monitor to my 970. I'm using a DP cable with a HDMI adaptor going into the video card. However, the monitor keeps going into power save mode and is not being recognised in the Nvidia control panel or in my windows display menus. I've selected DP as the appropriate display type on the monitors settings menu, but I'm not having much luck. There is no display on the monitor at all.

Any help?

did you do a detect in displays in control panel?

Its not pickling up the monitor in Nvidia control panel or windows CP.

try that monitor by itself to see if windows shows up on it.
