Xbox 360 windows controller for PC problem, pls help!

Hi, I got an xbox controller for my PC and when I plug it in, my Microphone stops working. Either this, or my audio stops working.

Both the mic and my soundcard is connected through USB, just like the controller. Why does the xbox controller cause these problems for me ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Edit 2: USB mic and USB sound card seems to swap between each other. i.e. only one works at a time when the xbox controller is plugged in.

Tried looking for the controller in audio devices, it's not there and I cant disable it. Must be another solution?

2. Right click the speaker icon in the bottom right corner -> Recording Devices -> look for something labeled XBOX -> right click it -> Disable
