New Internal Hard disk error. Data Error (Cyclic redundancy check)

I just bought a new WD Caviar Green 1 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (WD10EZRX) from amazon India. I went to disk management to initialize it and gave me two options MBR & GPT. When I select either option & click OK, it says Data error (CRC) and fails to initialize it.

Please help!!

Right click the partition it should give you the option to convert to dynamic disk, after doing so you should be able to format it (NTFS)

There is no option but properties. The others are grayed out!

Is the disk showing that its status is Online? and also if you right click the "Disk 0" or "Disk 1" box on the left hand side can you convert it from there?

The disk 1 says its not intialized and now when I try to initialize it says "Device not ready"

I'm truly sorry to hear about your issues with the WD Green drive!
I'd also advise you to test the drive using WD's Data LifeGuard diagnostics tool. It will let you know what's the health and SMART status of the drive, just make sure you run the QUICK and the EXTENDED test.
