So... this is my PC build that I have come up with -

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

... I have never made a PC before or owned a high quality one but I'm planning to and I would like to make it myself... Please give me any feedback on parts :p

(I don't really know what are the good parts but I looked into them first)

First of all, I've to say you did a great job coming up with a solid build. I only made two changes to your config:

- The CX Series from Corsair doesn't seem to do well in terms of longevity. So I've replace with an 550W XFX which is pretty good PSU (its manufacturing partner is SeaSonic, who is one of the best in making PSUs). Also GTX 970 only needs 28A on +12V rail, with a quality 500W PSU. The XFX is quality 550W has 45A on +12V rail.

- Windows 7 mainstream support has already ended by Jan 2015. Also modern games like Battlefield 4 run and perform better in Windows 8.1 than on Windows 7.

So here is your config with those two changes:

Looks similar to the build i'm thinking honestly. Granted I will have to wait on the GPU for a bit but i'm thinking

Rosewill Capstone 550W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply
Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
MSI Z97-GAMING 7
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case

Of course Windows 8.1 too but I'm pretty sure the 4690k's intergrated graphics can handle most games on low mid range by itself especially if they are more CPU based. If I can deal with 5 years on a Pentium 4 I think I can handle 2 - 3 months on a newer machine w/o a GPU.
