Earlier this year I built a 4K PC gaming rig that consists of the following specs:

CPU: i7-5820K
GPU: GTX 980 SLI (2x)
RAM: 32gb DDR4 RAM

I built this for 4K gaming and right now I am gaming on a 46" 1080p Sony LED television but next month I am looking to upgrade my display to 4K. I don't use monitor's as I sit a good 10ft back from my display and monitor so am thinking about going with Sony's high-end 4K television announced at CES this year, the XBR-55X850C linked here: http://store.sony.com/55-class-54.6-diag-4k-ultra-hd-tv-zid27-XBR55X850C/cat-27-catid-sony-ces-2015-tv?_t=pfm%3Dcategory

Will this make a good 4K gaming monitor for high-end gaming? Any suggestions or thoughts on other options that may be better?

Always have to read the fine print.

4096 × 2160p (60 Hz)*1, *2, 4096 × 2160p
(24 Hz)*2, 3840 × 2160p (60 Hz)*1
, 3840 ×
2160p (24, 30 Hz), 1080p (30, 60 Hz), 1080/
24p, 1080i (60 Hz), 720p (30, 60 Hz), 720/
24p, 480p, 480i, PC Formats
*1 YCbCr 4:2:0 / 8bit only

4:2:0 color video only. Not idea for much stuff dealing with 8bit color. It's a trick, they cut down the number of colors they send, and then they can send twice as much data to get 60fps. Not true HDMI 2.0, nor good for gaming.

Ahhh nice catch, quite disappointing as I was really looking forward to this television as other than that, it looks like an amazing television. I want to go with the best 55" possible for around the $2k mark, suggestions? That Vizio is a good deal, but want something better quality and since I am willing to go to a 55 inch at that price, I should be able to get a sick tv.
