Does it decrease performance to have my pc connected to my TV and monitor at the same time but only using one screen? As in i'm using a DVI cable for my monitor and simultaneously using a HDMI cable for my Plasma TV but I'm only using one screen at a time while the other screen is off..And when I want to pc game on my tv I simply go to display settings and swap monitors while cables are still connected to both my monitor and my Plasma TV..Does it decrease performance?? Thanks.

Yes and no. Overall GPU/CPU performance no however, having multiple monitors running at any time will cause higher temperatures. As long as you have a rig that isn't suffering in the air flow department you should be just fine.
