I have read through the site looking for an answer, so decided to ask here.

I am looking for a good gaming monitor that runs well with my single Nvidia 970. I have the i5-4690k CPU with 16 gigs of ram, and just game playing FPS and MMO's, sometimes single player games such as Dragon Age Inquisition.

From what I have read, it does not sound like a 4k monitor will work well with my single GPU but I need at least a 27" monitor and minimum resolution of 2560 x 1440, I already have a Viewsonic 24" at 1920x1080 but want the new monitor as my main one.

I am giving up my Sony 40" TV which runs at 1920x1080 for gaming, I sit too close to it to be able to read anything clearly and I do not watch TV, so I need a replacement.

I look forward to some suggestions!

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your reply, the AOC does not meet my requirements of resolution at 2560 x 1440 minimum, the Acer one you mentioned doesn't seem to have very good reviews. I am looking forward to other suggestions.

Am I correct that using one Nvidia 970 GPU on a 4k monitor will not work well?

I have about $600 in my budget for a new monitor but if a 27" 4k with one 970 isn't going to work for gaming I really don't want to spend the money for it.

I was looking at Dell Ultra HD 4k Monitor P2715Q 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor and its a nice monitor but with only one 970 I am not sure about using it.
