i would get a 27'' 1440p instead! will work better with your gpu, performance wisely and you wont run into any issues! you will find trouble gaming on an eyfinity setup with some titles!

Yes it will run 3 monitors and still get good fps. Keep in mind that r9 290x has more than enough xtra gbs to be spent on xtra monitors.

I actually disagree with chris987. It depends on what games you play, but if any of those are racing games, get 3 monitors- it's really something else. Best experience you can ever get while gaming. For a 27" 1440 (2.5k) monitor to be effective [able to tell the difference between 1080 and 1440] you need to sit 2.5 feet or closer else you will be wasting resources on driving a higher resolution display- the extra screen real estate is also something else though, if you never experienced it before.
