Dear People of TomsHardware,

I am looking into what I should upgrade on my computer, I only want to spend $500 dollars total.

My Specs:

OS: Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 220
RAM: 6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 533MHz (7-7-7-20)
Motherboard: FOXCONN 2AB1
Graphics: 2943MB ATI Radeon HD 4200
Monitor: HP x20LED (1600x900@60Hz)
Storage: 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10 01FAES-60Z2A0 SATA Disk Device (SATA)
Optical Drives: 1. SanDisk SanDisk Cruzer USB Device 2. hp DVD A DH16ABLH
Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio

I am fine with my mic etc. I just want to upgrade my PC itself. I play games like, CS:GO, TF2, a few other FPS games, and games like Don't Starve Together. I am also looking for an inboard wifi adapter if you guys could help with that.

Definitely upgrade the CPU, GPU, and, if you have the money, the motherboard. Some CPU choices are FX-8350, FX-6300, i5-XXXX(Depends on what specifications you want). GPUs include R9 270, R9 280, GTX 750, GTX 960, etc. it all depends on your needs. If you are just playing those games, I recommend the R9 270. Any recent/new motherboards from MSI, ASUS, and ASRock will do for you PC. Also, if you can, try to get eight GBs of ram.
