Wanting to Upgrade my Nvidia Geforce 650GTX

Hi and thanks for helping. I want to upgrade my 650GTX to something that can run witcher 3 and other demanding games with max settings or really close to max settings and smooth FPS. My budget right now is about 250$. Any suggestions

Depending on the make/model of your "750W" PSU, that PhII X4 can keep up with the R9-270X or possibly the GTX 960 before any major bottleneck creeps in.

thanks it says thermaltake toughpower on the power supply. which of those cards do you prefer? Would they improve my performance and graphics drastically?

The GTX 960 or R9-280 would be the fastest, but unless you OC your processor, it will probably bottleneck the gfx card in some games. The R9-270X would probably be the most balanced choice. But I'm usually slightly partial to Nvidia because their drivers are more mature. As a result, they have less overhead and allow slightly better performance from comparable cards than AMD. But now that AMD has released Mantle, that may be changing.

Probably best to go with the R9-270X as long as you have the aging Phenom II X4 955. The 270X will be a nice performance boost over your GTX 650: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1125?vs=1043
