Looking to buy a new cpu now my g3258 has hit it's limits with new games needing 4 cores/hyperthreading.

You can use your current setup and install an i5-4460 or i5-4690K depending on budget.

If money is no object you can go all the way to the i7-4790K...however it doesn't really represent proportionate gains for your money.

If gaming is your primary concern the i5's can handle anything you throw at them with aplomb

I HAVE A 4670K I5 the heatsink has never been used and is boxed.its great on temps.im in east anglia UK
