Need help for choosing a new monitor

Hello! My current monitor is about 10 years old and today, while I was surfing the internet, it died. I have time to purchase a new one until tomorrow (because I need my PC if you're wondering why), but I do not understand much about them... Here is some info about my PC:

CPU: AMD A10-5800K
GPU: MSI Radeon R9 270 2GB
RAM: 8GB
PSU: 600W

My old monitor's resolution was 1280x1024. I played CS:GO with like 190 FPS (on max) and Mortal Kombat X with 50-60 on Medium to High. What is the recommended resolution I should use to have good performance in games again? I was thinking of buying a 1600x900 or 1920x1080. And another question.. should I buy a LED monitor? Thanks!

Your computer can handle 1080p, no question. I max out CS:GO at 1080p, 70FPS, with a much slower system than yours.
