graphics card compatibility question

I currently have a gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard
AMD-FX 4300 quad core processor
graphics card: Nvidia Geforce GT 610
i'm looking into upgrading my graphics card to an AMD R9 270x, but i want to be positive that it's compatible. I just bought a 750w power source as well.
would be using it for mostly League of Legends, but might get more into pc gaming into the future. looking for more FPS. any advice would help as well as any other product recommendations.

That card is 100% compatible with that board. All PCIe x16 cards are backward compatible with previous versions of PCI Express.
