I have my hp computer connected to an epson projection scrren through an hdmi to vga cable but nothing is showing on the projector screen. is there something I need to turn on with my computer?

if it is a laptop, there is probably an F key that will allow you to switch video mode.

also check the video properties and see if there are settings in there that with allow you to do dual screen.
