Nvidia control panel refresh rate affect games?

I have a Acer predator 144hz and I always leave the resolution for windows at 1440p and refresh rate at 60hz.

Recently when loading batman, I noticed the game does not have a setting for refresh rate?

Question is, does the windows refresh rate in the NVidia control panel dictate the refresh rate at this point. Because most games I've played all had separate settings from windows for refresh rate.

The reason I don't just switch the nvidia/windows refresh rate to 144hz is my gpu (titan x) idles high (64c) when using windows at 1440p and 144hz.

Any insight on the matter would be much appreciated as it just is puzzling and im having trouble telling if Batman Arkam City is running at 60hz or higher

click vsync on, and use shadowplay fps counter.

It will cap to whatever the screen is using and display the frames in the corner for you.

Thanks for the reply, If I enable shadowplay fps counter, can I turn the fps display off, as to not see it while gaming

Yea sure you can, I just suggested it as it's a decent fps counter already on your system without needing a 3rd party download.
