Can't burn a DVD-R disc

First, I'd like to say I have no idea where to post this, so I decided to do it here because it's the closest to what I think it is.

My problem:
I have a ISO I want to burn and I have a DVD-R. I've done this multiple times but I haven't had any problem whatsoever. Using PowerISO, it says the DVD has no space to burn the ISO (the ISO is 4.5GB). I don't know why it says that because there's nothing in the disc, I just bought it.
Using ImgBurn, it says the same, only 31MB left in the disc.

How is that possible? Do I need to format it? I've tried to format it using the Windows 7 options but it said it couldn't format it.

Can you open it up in My Computer and check there's nothing on it?

Also, IIRC the Autoplay window should pop up when you insert a CD/DVD, blank or not. Does it ask you what to do with a blank DVD?

No, that's what I found odd. Nothing popped up when I inserted the DVD.

Do you have another PC you can try?

I inserted the same disc in a laptop and it says there's nothing in the disc and nothing pops up too.

I bought a new DVD-R disc and this one now is working fine. Seems like the problem was the other disc!
