Hi all,

Currently I've been using my TV pretty much as a computer screen but since I think it's a bit on the large size I want to switch it out for a proper PC Monitor. My main purpose of using the computer is gaming (Assassins Creed/The Witcher 3/CS: GO/Shadow of Mordor) with side-usage of browsing and movies.

My budget is around 300-400 Euro but between all the options I have no idea what I actually have to choose to get the best gaming performance. I do know I would love the best settings for 1080P if possible but I have no idea if I have to go for a 24/27 Inch screen, 60/70/120/144 HZ (more or less heared that gamers love the 120/140 HZ). I'm hoping that some people with more knowlegde about this subject can give me some advice.

My computer setup:
Power Supply: Coolermaster 600Watt
Motherboard: Asus z97-AR
Processor: Intelcore I5- 4690k (Overlocked to 4.7Ghz) + Corsair Hydro H1001 Cooler
Videocard: Asus GTX 760 DCII OC, 2 GB
Hard Disk: Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB Sata III
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2

A 1080p monitor at 144hz. Cheap and effective for your GPU, in case your graphics card is able to get 120+ FPS in the game you play in the first place. Otherwise, 60hz is fine. I will not suggest 1440p or 4K because with a 760, you'll see low frame rates at native resolution.
Best of luck :)

Thank you very much for your advice. I might upgrade my video card in the future but for now it's not worth it since I only acquired this videocard like half a year ago.

In the mindset of getting a 1080P monitor at 60/120/140 Hz do you have any recommendations?

It's pretty allround. I play games such as Assassins Creed, The Witcher 3, Counterstrike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty Shadow of Mordor, World of Warcraft, Skyrim.
