windows 7 hal.dll blue screen of death

hi i have been having alot of bsod since christmas after i installed a new gtx 970 i don't think its the card i can stress test the pc for hours and it wont bsod but it will when i use the gradient overlay tool(move the slider)in photoshop it will bsod every time i use it and now its started to do the samething on youtube i have used bluescreenview and it shows the problem as a hal.dall hal.dll+12a3b i can link to a pic of the bluescreenview if needed i have tried switching over the ram and reseating all the parts and plugs and i have tried a clean install of win 7 but none of it helped so im lost to what it chould be? any one have any ideas how i can go about fixing this.

Try updating your video card drivers, if that doesn't solve the problem reinstall Windows and see if it helps.

You can also try before anything else, using a program called 'Tweaking Windows Repair', you can find it for free on the net if you google it. It basically repairs your installation of Windows.
