Building New PC: Buy 8.1 or wait for 10?

Hello everyone,

I am almost done building a new PC (I just need to purchase the SSD and operating system) and I am not sure if I should buy Windows 8.1 or wait and buy Windows 10. Since I am so close to being done I really want to buy 8.1.

I realize I can upgrade from 8.1 to 10 but my worry is that down the road if I need to reinstall from my disk that I will be stuck with 8.1. When you upgrade, does Windows 10 attache itself to my CD Key? Can I then in a few years use the CD to install it on another one of my systems or on my computer again and not be stuck with 8.1?

Windows 10 is going to be available as an update, accessible through windows update, OR as downloadable media that will work with your current Windows 8.1 license key.
