Looking for advice and recommendations on my second custom build, the budget is 1000 to 1,400, and does not include keyboard/monitor/etc (for gaming). Overclocking option with additional cooling in the future is good but not necessary at this time. At the moment I am looking for ways to teak my current list of parts to cut costs and balance out preformance, current list of parts are in link below.

Note: This is for a family member and they are set on the motherboard for the audio boost and "armor" cover, if something simular is found for cheaper or the same price it would be acceptable. Color coding is optimual for them as well but ultimately if it looks, sounds, and operates good they wont notice.

In my opinion that motherboard may be really good but it doesnt need to cost that much. get a cheaper motherboard and get a better cpu/gpu and run games even better.

In your price range i would recommend this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2xHPdC
if you would like a cheaper gpu than that, o with the gtx 970. still a great gpu.

Best of luck with your build. Hope this helps.

I second this. The motherboard and RAM is overkill. As for the processor, I would get an I5 4690k, really great processor. I would get a ~ 150$ Z97 board in order to overclock the CPU. 8 gigs of RAM is more than enough, unless you plan on video editing/rendering, which you probably aren't due to your processor choice. Step it up and get a GTX 970. Can max anything at 1080p and is really suited for 1440p gaming. Its considered the one of the best "Bang for buck" cards. As for the case, it is purely personal preference. The PSU you could get is the http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20850xr. If you want to spice up the startup/ loading times in games, (not performance), you could get a Samsung 850 EVO 250 gig SSD, which goes for about 110$.

Thank you both for the advice, I personally thought the motherboard was overkill myself, but like I said this wasnt a build for myself. I will talk to my family member again. I know that she doesnt want to do any video/editing and plans to use her tv as the monitor when she plays games or watch movies, so I think the gtx 970 would be nice.
