Newbie Motherboard & Overclocking Questions

hi! Can someone explain to me if the asus a88xm-plus or any other motherboard that says in ram specifications this : 2400(oc),2133, and so on , will support a 2400mhz gskill ram ? Also a friend of mine told me that if i overclock the ram the cpu will be overclocked as well because they use the same bus. Is this true and if yes can i avoid it ? I will be using the amd a8 7600 kaveri apu

2.5.2 Memory Frequency: change to [DDR3-2400MHz]

2.5.8 DRAM Timing Control
In this example the above listed memory is:
Timing 11-13-13-31
• Cas Latency 11

First change Cas Latency number to 11
then change the next 3 numbers (13-13-31)

2.5.10 DRAM Voltage
In this example the voltage is 1.65v
change to 1.65v

Save and Exit BIOS
