I've started purchasing the parts for my first build, and I'm looking for a bit of reassurance that I haven't screwed up too badly ;)

I'm not planning on multiple GPUs; possible overclocking. Might attempt to set up a dual boot Windows/OS X in the future.

Main use will be moderate gaming, 3D modeling applications, at-home office work, browsing...

Also, I have an older Apple 20" Cinema Display, that I believe has a DVI-D single connector. Will this work with my system ?

very nice, but why the hell would you use windows 7? it uses more resources, lacks lots of features and it's even slower. I'd highly recommend 8.1.
And yes it will work with your older apple 20" cinema display aswell.

Because I have 8.1 on my laptop and it it drives me crazy - I'm a lot more familiar with Win7. Planning to get the free update to 10 asap, though.

Thanks, that releases some money at the start, so I can save up for a 27"
