There is no need to put such mobo on your build, go with cheaper one which supports your cpu and 1600MHz RAM
PSU is complete overkill, put 500W
And u better put an HDD drive because 256Gb SSD won't be enough I'm sure))

You have a suggestion for a motherboard? I'm open for suggestions. This is the first time I've ever built one, so I'm winging it. :) Thanks!

I'd say this is a mid-tier gaming rig. The 750ti is a brilliant choice for your motherboard and CPU. You can run most games at 1080p at a reasonable framerate, even push 60 at medium/low(depending). For storage, I'd personally recommend a SSD and HDD combo. The SSD choice is solid but 250GB just doesn't cut it nowadays. I'd say 1TB max capacity is a minimum. However, this PC will be very under-utilized for the work you're trying to get out of it. I'd say go for a laptop. You will have the performance requirements and portability (which is a big plus for me) and Windows 8 is better with touchscreen. Or if you would like to build this rig, here's my suggestion. Amp up the storage capacity and cut down on the wattage for the PSU. Everything else looks perfect.

Happy building! :)

Wow! Thanks for doing that.

At a budget of $1000 I don't see a reason to go with a locked core cpu but that's me. Either a 4690k with win 8.1 or use the free win10 tech preview and a 4790k.

Hmm... I think I would rather have a an i5 4590 + ssd than pay an extra $100 for the i7 4790k and no ssd. The i5 + ssd would certainly FEEL faster in most tasks. Of course, for about $50 more, you could get a Xeon e3-1231v3 and keep the ssd :)
