An enlightening post from the company itself when I thought this thread would go on deaf ears (errr eyes?).

Thank you for the reply. It might not mean much in the grand scheme of things but consider me officially waiting for this release as I am thoroughly impressed.

Any news on a official date? I know it's slated for this month. My checkout finger is itching!

I'd like some TridentZs for my next system, but it sure as hell ain't gonna be an x99 one.
I really like their look, but i'm not stupid enough to go with DDR4 yet.
Make some 2400mhz DDR3 TridentZs and we'll see. (or whatever)

I guess I'm "stupid" then.

Then again, I never really could understand people complaining about the $24 difference between DDR3 and DDR4. Especially when you get 2800 instead of 2400 in addition to it being DDR4.

It's really not just the DDR4 that's the price difference, it's the entire step up to x99.
It's not economically viable if you're not making money with it.

Depends on where you are stepping up from. Also, 90% of the things in your life are not "economically viable". I'm not entirely sure what your point is.

Truth be told, I think it's stupid to call someone stupid because they don't share your outlook on hardware. Or upgrading for that matter. (the irony is intentional)

Unless you weren't calling me stupid intentionally. In that case, I just don't understand your point.
