1080p 144hz hdmi ips 27.0" monitor?

they don't make them. HDMI can only do 60hz unless both your GPU and monitor have HDMI 2.0, them it can do 120hz max

Wait so if i have a gtx 980ti or 980 which has a hdmi 2.0 port and have a monitor with a hdmi 2.0 port a can get 120hz refresh rate?

the specs say yes, so if you can find a monitor then you should be fine

So when searching for a monitor should i specifically search for a 120hz hdmi monitor or a 60hz hdmi monitor which secretly goes up to 120hz. Would help if u gave examples of monitors too

BenQ seem to make a few but I can't find anything that specifically states that it does 120hz via the HDMI port.

Make sure your cable is HDMI 2.0 if you decide to go that route. If your GTX 980 has a DisplayPort then I would use that instead if you can't find the monitor you want with HDMI 2.0 since it's far more common on high-end monitors and it can also output both video/audio (most people don't know this).

the cable only needs to be HDMI 1.4 as the changes are made on the ports at both ends, most 1.4 cables say 1.4/2.0 on them anyway
