Want to PC game. No idea where to start

I would like to get into PC gaming but i have no idea how to start. My budget is about 400 to 500$ but everytime i look at parts the shipping is crazy expensive or it doesnt ship at all because i live in Canada. I want to run games well but im not looking for anything insane, just demanding games at a good and steady frame rate.

However I'd recommend reading up TH's site for the building guides.
Certainly the budget is restrictive but it's a solid start, you can upgrade as you go if you so choose.

As long as you aren't planning on running any super graph intensive games, like say Minesweeper, you should be able to get a pretty good desktop rig for that!
