tv second monitor poor quality

Today, I got an HDMI cable to run from my computer to my tv so I could have second "monitor". The only thing is, my tv (for some reason) has really poor quality. I don't know if this is a simple fix or what, I'm just not very good with computers. If you need any info on my computer specs or anything like that let me know. It might also just be my tv, because it's not really a "high-priced" one.

The quality of the second TV monitor is entirely dependent on the TV. A good HDTV with HDMI 1.4 or above makes a great monitor for videos.
